Brief

The original concept called for a large, heavily expressed handrail profile. Through design discussions with the builder and client, we refined the section to a slimmer, more elegant form that better suited the architecture and project budget without losing presence. The final profile measures 140 x 45 mm, tapering to a fine 22 mm on the inside edge, constructed entirely as a bent-laminated system. Around 60 per cent of the work was completed in the workshop, with the remaining 40 per cent carried out on site to ensure a precise fit along every change in rake and radius.
