Entry Door
The client wanted a large, hidden front door with a timber-lined ceiling and walls. We designed a 1700 x 2800 mm entry door in Victorian ash castellated cladding, built on a 65 mm box section steel frame using a FritsJurgens M System+. The subframe was prefabricated, trimmed and installed, then the door, side walls and ceiling were clad in situ to create a continuous, seamless surface.
Internally, we worked closely with the plasterers to eliminate visible jambs, so the door reads as uninterrupted floor to ceiling castellated cladding when closed. Externally, we grain matched the head and ceiling cladding so the timber runs as a single, consistent surface across the entry.
Cavity slider
The interior cavity slider is a fully set unit with no pelmets or architraves, measuring 1400 x 2700 mm. The mechanism is soft close and soft open, designed for ease of use and longevity. To maintain a slim wall profile without risk of movement, door stiles were re-sawn and face laminated. Materials include Victorian ash and fluted glass.
Outdoor entertaining and table
Existing structural steel beams in the outdoor area could not be removed, but lacked visual appeal. Our approach was to integrate them into the overall cladding language, wrapping them in timber with a 10 mm shadow line at the ceiling that ties into the castellated profile. Using a Lamello and domino system, we were able to clad the posts without any visible fixings.
The client also commissioned a custom sized timber top table for the space. We designed a mild steel 75 x 50 mm box section frame with a powdercoated finish, paired with a custom milled Victorian ash top that balances visual lightness with durability for outdoor conditions.
