Brief

Working with Gen5 Constructions, we were engaged to design, manufacture and install a series of floor to ceiling pivot doors in European oak veneer, along with a hidden powder room door and a battened entry feature that ties into the front door.

Three pivot doors were built without visible jambs, creating a floating effect within the wall line. At 60 mm thick, each door accommodates a large soft-close pivot unit that holds the door open without latches or door stops, keeping the openings visually clean.

For the powder room, we developed a fully concealed pivot door within a European oak veneered wall with solid oak battens. Considerable time was spent drawing, prototyping and sampling jamb profiles to ensure the door remained truly hidden in the closed position while still operating smoothly.

At the entry, the door itself was supplied by another party, but the client asked us to design and install a black timber batten feature and custom full height timber door handle. Because the door had already been prefabricated, we used a Lamello Zeta P2 system to fix the battens with no visible fixings, preserving the seamless appearance of the entry.
